Construction of the Sagrada Família will be completed in 2026 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Gaudí’s death. The Sagrada Família will have taken 144 years to build, the equivalent of 5 generations. By comparison, the Great Pyramid of Giza took just 20 years.

Park Güell:

Set in the hills above the city, the colourful Park Güell is named after Count Eusebi Güell and was originally intended as a meeting place for Barcelona’s wealthy citizens. However, it was opened to the general public after Gaudí’s death in 1926. Gaudí had made Park Güell his home for the two decades prior to his death.
